The Divine Virtues of the Quran

The Divine Virtues of the Quran

A Guide to Its Blessings and Wisdom

Why the Quran is a Treasure for Humanity?

The Quran is not just a book it’s a divine miracle, a source of guidance, and a healing for the soul.

Revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) over 1,400 years ago, its words remain timeless, offering wisdom, comfort, and direction for all of humanity.

But what makes the Quran so special? What are its virtues, and how can we benefit from them in our daily lives?

In this article, we’ll explore the profound virtues of the Quran, backed by verses from the Holy Quran itself and the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH).

 1. The Quran is a Divine Revelation from Allah

The Quran: The Ultimate Guidance for Mankind

Allah (SWT) says in the Quran:

“This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah.”

 (Quran 2:2)

Unlike any other book, the Quran is the literal word of Allah, preserved without any alteration.

It serves as a manual for life, covering everything from faith and worship to social justice and personal conduct.

A Miracle in Its Language and Preservation

The Quran’s linguistic excellence is unmatched. Allah challenges mankind:

“And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful.”

 (Quran 2:23)

No one has ever been able to replicate its eloquence, proving its divine origin. Moreover, Allah promises its preservation:

“Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an and indeed, We will be its guardian.”

 (Quran 15:9)

Unlike previous scriptures, the Quran remains unchanged, a testament to its authenticity.

2. The Quran is a Source of Healing and Mercy

Spiritual and Physical Healing Through the Quran

Allah describes the Quran as a healing for the heart:

“And We send down of the Quran that which is healing and mercy for the believers…”

 (Quran 17:82)

Reciting and reflecting on the Quran brings peace to the soul. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

"The example of a believer who recites the Quran is like a citron, its fragrance is sweet and its taste is sweet..."

 (Sahih Bukhari)

 Ruqyah (Healing Through Quranic Verses)

Specific verses, like Ayat-ul-Kursi (2:255) and the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah (2:285-286), are known for protection and healing.

The Prophet (PBUH) encouraged reciting them for safety and cure from illnesses.

3. The Quran Intercedes for Its Readers on the Day of Judgment

A Witness for You in the Hereafter

One of the greatest virtues of the Quran is that it will intercede for those who recite and act upon it. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

"Read the Quran, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection."

 (Sahih Muslim)

Imagine standing before Allah, and the Quran itself speaks in your favor what an incredible blessing!

Elevation in Paradise Based on Quranic Recitation

The Quran Memorizer’s Virtue
Al-Bukhari (4937) recounted from `A’ishah that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stated:

“The likeness of the one who reads the Quran and memorizes it is that he is with the righteous honorable scribes.”

This speaks to the value of the Hafidh who memorizes the Quran.

The person who reads it and makes a concerted effort to commit it to memory, despite the fact that it is challenging for him, will receive two awards.

The more you recite and memorize the Quran, the higher your rank in Jannah.

It is simple for Hafidh who have committed the Quran to memory to pray Qiyam Al-Layl.

On the Day of Resurrection, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stated that

“a person will be interceded for by the Quran and fasting on the Day of Resurrection.”

“O Lord, I denied him food and desires during the day, so allow me to pray for him,” is what fasting will say.

“I deprived him of his sleep at night, so let me intercede for him,” the Quran would say. After that, they will both speak up for him.

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“It will be said to the companion of the Quran: ‘Recite and rise in status as you used to recite in the world, and your position will be at the last verse you recite.'”

 (Sunan Abi Dawud)

4. The Quran Purifies the Heart and Strengthens Faith

A Light in the Darkness of Life

Allah describes the Quran as a “light” that guides people out of ignorance:

“There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book.”

 (Quran 5:15)

Regular recitation softens the heart and increases taqwa (God-consciousness).

 Protection from Misguidance and Evil

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

"The Quran is either an argument for you or against you."

 (Sahih Muslim)

Those who follow the Quran will be successful, while those who neglect it will face regret.

5. The Quran Brings Barakah (Blessings) into Your Life

A Source of Abundance and Success

Allah promises prosperity to those who adhere to the Quran:

“And this Quran is a Book We have revealed which is blessed, so follow it and fear Allah that you may receive mercy.”

 (Quran 6:155)

Homes where the Quran is recited are filled with angels and divine blessings.

The Quran as a Means of Forgiveness

Repentance and Quranic recitation go hand in hand. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

“Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward…”

 (Sunan At-Tirmidhi)

Even struggling to recite brings immense reward!

6. The Quran Strengthens Family and Community Bonds

Teaching the Quran to Children: A Path to Jannah

The Prophet (PBUH) emphasized:

"The best among you are those who learn the Quran and teach it."

 (Sahih Bukhari)

Parents who teach their children the Quran secure blessings for generations.

 Building a Quran-Based Society

Communities centered around the Quran experience unity, justice, and harmony. Allah says:

“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided…”

 (Quran 3:103)

The Quran is that unbreakable rope.
