Which country or race does Islam belong to?

Which country or race does Islam belong to?

Islam is sometimes misinterpreted as belonging only to one nation or ethnic group; this is absolutely WRONG.

Islam is a religion that is practiced by people of many nationalities, ethnicities, and cultural backgrounds. ALLAH, the Almighty who created the earth and the heavens, only recognizes just one religion – Islam.

Believe it or not – did you know that the first human being ever created, Adam, was a Muslim?

Did you know that Noah (Noah), was a Muslim?

Did you know that Enoch (Idris), Abraham (Ibraheem/Ibrahim), Moses (Musa), Johan (Yunus), Joseph (Yusuf), Ishmael (Ismael), David (Dawud), and even Jesus (Isa) – all were Muslims?

Let me explain further…

What makes a person a Muslim?

Muslim is a person who believes in Islam, and Islam means ‘complete submission to ALLAH (God).’ When someone willfully submits to ALLAH (God), he/she is considered a Muslim.

Ok, we got that squared away; are you with me so far?

All the prophets (including the ones mentioned above) were Muslims based on the description provided above.

The Quran and Sunnah

Next, let’s talk about the Quran (also spelled as Qur’an, Quraan, Koran, etc).

Linguistically, the Quran is an Arabic word which simply translates to ‘recited’ or ‘recitation.’

Back in the days, the Quran used to be in a book version. But with technology – there are electronic versions of the Quran (Quran apps, pdf, etc). However, the writing of the Quran in all versions are all exactly the same.  The Quran is the words of ALLAH. There are 114 chapters in the Quran, and there are millions of people in the world today who have memorized the entirety of 114 chapters of the Quran by heart. Amazing. I know!

The Quran emphasizes that Islam is not restricted to any particular group. In Surah Al-Hujurat (49:13), ALLAH says:

O humanity! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may ˹get to˺ know one another. Surely the most noble of you in the sight of ALLAH is the most righteous among you. ALLAH is truly All-Knowing, All-Aware.

This verse highlights that all human beings are equal in the eyes of ALLAH, and the only criterion for distinction is righteousness and piety.

The message of Islam is for all of humanity, regardless of race, nationality, or social status.

Furthermore, the Quran declares in Surah Al-Imran (3:19) that:

Indeed, the religion in the sight of ALLAH is Islām. And those who were given the Scripture did not differ except after knowledge had come to them – out of jealous animosity between themselves. And whoever disbelieves in the verses of ALLAH, then indeed, ALLAH is swift in [taking] account.

“Indeed, the religion in the sight of ALLAH is Islam.”

This reinforces the belief that Islam is the divinely ordained way of life for all people, intended to guide them towards righteousness and the worship of the one true God, ALLAH.

Side note: Some people believe that the God of Islam is different from the God of Judaism and Christianity. This is false. God of all these religions is the same, ALLAH.

Throughout history, Muslims have come from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and regions, showcasing the universal appeal and acceptance of Islam.

From the heart of the Arabian Peninsula, where the final prophet, Muhammad (peace be upon him), was sent to all mankind and jinns.

In other words, prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him ) was sent to every single human being living on earth at his time, until the end of time, including the jinss.

It is worth mentioning that Islam has spread and taken root among people of various ethnicities and cultures. to the far reaches of Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas,

Islam has spread and taken root among people of various ethnicities and cultures.

To ALLAH, the only religion he will accept is Islam. To ALLAH, all human beings are the same, and the only difference is by Taqwa (Taqwa basically means consciousness of ALLAH, having piety towards ALLAH, to have fear of ALLAH, to follow the commandments of ALLAH, awareness of ALLAH).

ALLAH is the One Who created all human beings, jinns, animals, trees, oceans, and everything that we hear and see.

The biggest enemy of ALLAH is satan (devil), the biggest and oldest satan is known as Iblis (Lucifer).

The Quran informs us that Iblis disobeyed the order of ALLAH, he (Iblis) told ALLAH that he will mislead people away from the teachings of Islam and and take them all to the hellfire.

Iblis and his army constantly whisper to us 24/7/365, every second, every minute, every hour, every day , all the time continuously – to do bad things that displease and anger ALLAH.

All the evil things we do (stealing, harming others, drugs, drinking, fornication, killing, etc) is something that is encouraged to us by satan; that’s his full time job to make sure we do these things and worship other than ALLAH.

Ok, that was a little info regarding Iblis, the biggest enemy of ALLAH.

Let’s go back.

Ramadan The Most Honored Month in Islam

Islam has no consideration of distinctions based on race, color, or ancestry.

As we have already stated, Islam does not not care about looks, race, color, or ancestry. Or does not belong to Arabs, Africans, Middle Easts or any other country.

Since Adam was formed of dust, all individuals are descended from him.

Instead, Islam holds that a person’s superiority over others is determined by their level of  Taqwa, or piety and awareness of ALLAH, which comes from following ALLAH’s commands and abstaining from His prohibitions.

In Hadith sahih the Prophet PBUH said; out loud and not secretly “I have no friends who are related to Abu Fulaan, the father of So and so. ALLAH and the righteous believers of all races, are my companions.”

Islam’s universality

The belief in Islam’s universality is rooted in its very foundation. According to Islamic teachings, the first human being, Adam, was created by ALLAH and was the first Muslim.

Islam, which means “submission to the will of ALLAH (God).” Islam was the religion of Adam, who submitted to ALLAH and followed His guidance. This principle of submission and devotion to ALLAH has been the core message of all subsequent prophets sent by ALLAH to guide humanity.

Prophets such as Nooh, Abraham, Moses, Isa (Jesus), and Muhammad (peace be upon them all) were sent to different peoples and nations, but their message was always the same: to worship ALLAH alone and not to associate any partners with ALLAH.

These prophets were all Muslims, as they all have submitted to ALLAH and preached the message of Islam.

Understanding Islamic monotheism

What is the meaning of Islamic Monotheism (Tawheed/Tawhid), Islamic monotheism, known as Tawheed or Tawhid, lies at the heart of the Islamic faith, defining the core belief system of Muslims worldwide.

Tawheed encompasses the concept of the oneness of ALLAH, emphasizing the absolute unity, uniqueness, and sovereignty of the Almighty.

Definition of Tawheed

Tawheed is derived from the Arabic root word “wahhada,” meaning Oneness, in this case – referring to the Oneness of ALLAH.

In the context of Islamic theology, Tawheed refers to the fundamental concept of the oneness of ALLAH. It encapsulates the belief that there is no deity worthy of worship except ALLAH and that He is indivisible, incomparable, and absolute in His attributes.

Tawheed is the cornerstone of Islamic theology, forming the basis for the entire Islamic worldview.

There are three categories of Tawheed

  1. Tawhid al-Rububiyyah (Oneness of Divine Lordship)
  2. Tawhid al-Uluhiyyah (Oneness of Divinity)
  3. Tawhid al-Asma wal-Sifat (Oneness of the Divine Names and Attributes)   (Source: Islamqa.info/en)

Questions asked by the Angels when a person is dead and buried.

When a person dies, Islamic teachings hold that their soul undergo a journey that includes being questioned by angels.

This event, known as the questioning in the grave, involves two angels named Munkar and Nakir. These angels are sent by ALLAH to ask the deceased three fundamental questions about their faith:

  1. Who is your Lord? مَنْ رَبُّكَ
  2. What is your religion? مَا دِينُكَ
  3. Who is your prophet? مَا هَذَا الرَّجُلُ الَّذِي بُعِثَ فِيكُمْ

The answers to these questions are crucial. A person who embraced and lived by the teachings of Islam will be able to answer correctly, affirming their belief in ALLAH, Islam as their religion, and Muhammad as their prophet.

Consequently, they will find peace and comfort in their grave until the Day of Judgment.

However, those who rejected the true faith of Islam and did not follow its teachings, will struggle to answer these questions.

According to Islamic belief, such individuals will face reprimand and punishment for their disbelief and rejection of the truth.

This period of questioning and its consequences serve as a prelude to the ultimate judgment that will take place on the Day of Judgment, where each soul will be held accountable for their deeds and faith.

The belief in Oneness of ALLAH (God) and the events following death are integral to the Islamic faith, guiding Muslims in their daily lives and spiritual practices.

The truth and the true religion (Islam)

The words of ALLAH, may He be glorified and exalted, reveal that the call of Islam is in line with good human nature. There are severe painful consequences for those people who die while denying Islam.

Which country or race does Islam belong to?

Why, you may ask!

Well, ALLAH is the One who created the whole universe and what it contains. He is the one who manages it, and He created human beings ONLY to worship Him alone (ALLAH).

So, if human beings don’t worship ALLAH, disobey ALLAH, and don’t follow his path – then their consequences include severe punishment.

Let’s put this in a real life example.

If you break traffic law and the police catch you, he will give you a citation. This citation is the consequences of breaking the law.

If someone commits a crime, his/her consequences is to go to jail (or prison, depending on the crime).

If you break the policy and the rules of your job, you will get fired, which is the consequences of breaking the rule.

Same thing, if you break the rule and law of ALLAH, He will punish you.

However, ALLAH does not like to punish. ALLAH’s mercy comes first before anything.

ALLAH Loves to forgive, all we have to do is just ask ALLAH to forgive us.

Nevertheless, that means those people who neglect ALLAH, disobey Him and don’t ask for His forgiveness – will face ALLAH’s wrath and punishment.

In conclusion,

Islam is not the religion of a specific country or race. It is a universal faith, the only religion accepted by ALLAH, designed to unite humanity under the worship of the one true God.

From the creation of the first human, Adam, to the teachings of all the prophets, Islam has been the consistent message of submission to ALLAH.

This universality makes Islam a religion for all, transcending the boundaries of race, nationality, and culture.
